From idea to always-on, without the headaches

You describe the problem; we own everything else. Our four-step process keeps you in control the whole way — a free consult to scope it, a fixed quote so there are no surprises, a clean build and install, and steady support that keeps it running long after we leave.

The process

Four steps, fully managed

No jargon, no lock-in, and nothing built behind a curtain. You see every decision before it costs you anything, and you can stop at any step with no obligation.

Step 1

Discover

It starts with a free, no-pressure conversation — by call, video, or on-site if it helps. We don't pitch a product. We ask what should happen, when it should happen, and why it hasn't been automated yet. Bring us the half-formed idea, the recurring annoyance, or the thing three other shops told you was impossible.

By the end of the consult you'll have an honest answer: whether we can build it, roughly what it would take, and whether it's even worth automating. If it isn't, we'll tell you that too.

  • A free 30–45 minute consult, no commitment
  • We map the real workflow, triggers, and edge cases
  • A straight answer on feasibility and rough scope
  • An inventory of what you already own that we can reuse

Step 2

Design & quote

Next we turn the idea into a concrete plan you can read in plain English. You'll see the automation logic written out — for example, "when the last person leaves the geofence and no motion is detected for ten minutes, arm the alarm, lock the doors, and drop the thermostat to 62°F" — alongside the exact hardware, the integrations, and what "done" looks like.

That plan comes with a fixed quote. One number for the whole build, agreed before any work starts. No hourly meter running in the background, no scope creep showing up on the invoice. If the design changes, we re-quote openly before we touch anything.

  • Automation logic spelled out in plain language
  • An itemized hardware and integration list
  • One fixed price for the whole project — no surprises
  • Clear success criteria you sign off on before we build

Step 3

Build & install

We engineer the system, wire in the hardware, and install it on your network and your devices. We build local-first wherever it matters, so the automation keeps running even when the internet doesn't — your door doesn't depend on someone else's cloud staying up.

Before we hand anything over, we test it the hard way: power cuts, dead sensors, dropped Wi-Fi, simultaneous triggers. You get a dashboard to watch it all live, plus documentation written for a human — what each automation does, how to pause it, and how to change your mind later.

  • Installed on your hardware, your network — local-first
  • Failure-tested for outages, lost sensors, and edge cases
  • A live dashboard so you can see exactly what's running
  • Plain-English documentation and a walkthrough

Step 4

Monitor & support

An automation is only as good as the day it stops working quietly. We keep an eye on the things that matter — a sensor that's gone silent, a valve that didn't actuate, a battery on its way out — and we reach out before you notice a problem, not after.

As your life or business shifts, we tune the logic to match: a new building, a new season, a new piece of equipment. Your automations get smarter over time instead of going stale. And because there's no lock-in, everything stays yours — you can take the keys and run it solo whenever you like.

  • Proactive monitoring with alerts before things break
  • Ongoing tuning as your needs and seasons change
  • Priority support when you actually need a human
  • No lock-in — the system stays yours, always

Ways to work with us

Pick the level of help you actually want

Start with a free consult and stop there if you like. Commission a one-time build. Or hand us the long-term care. Mix and match — there's no pressure to climb a ladder you didn't ask for.

Free Discovery Consult

$0 — always free. A focused conversation to pressure-test your idea. We figure out whether it's worth automating, sketch the rough approach, and give you an honest read on cost and effort. Walk away with a plan and zero obligation.

  • Feasibility and rough cost
  • A high-level approach
  • No commitment, no sales pitch

Fixed-Quote Build

One-time project, one agreed price. We design, engineer, install, and document the whole system for a single fixed fee quoted up front. Most builds land in the low four figures; larger industrial or multi-site jobs are scoped individually. You own everything when we're done.

  • Design, hardware, code, and install
  • Testing, dashboard, and documentation
  • 30-day warranty on the build

Care Plan

From a flat monthly fee. Optional, and cancel anytime. We watch your system around the clock, catch failing sensors and dead batteries before they bite, apply updates, and tune the logic as your needs shift. Priority support means a real human answers when something matters.

  • 24/7 monitoring and proactive alerts
  • Updates, tuning, and seasonal changes
  • Priority human support, no contracts

What the process feels like

"The fixed quote was the part that sold me — I knew the number before they touched a single wire. They built it, tested it in front of me, handed over docs I could actually read, and now it just runs. The monthly plan caught a dying sensor before I ever would have."

Good questions

The things people ask before they start

Short, honest answers. If yours isn't here, ask us on the consult — we'd rather over-explain than have you guess.

Effectively all of them. We build on Home Assistant, Zigbee, Z-Wave, Matter, Wi-Fi, and Thread for connected devices; cloud APIs and webhooks for software; and PLCs, relays, and custom hardware for industrial and one-off jobs. We're platform-agnostic on purpose — we pick whatever fits your problem best and reuse the gear you already own wherever we can, rather than selling you a brand.

You own it. The hardware is yours, the automations live on your network, and the documentation is written so you (or any other technician) can run it without us. There's no lock-in clause and no proprietary trap. A Care Plan is optional and cancel-anytime — if you ever want to take the keys and run solo, you can, and everything keeps working.

Local-first wherever it matters. Critical automations — locks, alarms, leak shutoffs, climate safeguards — run on your own hardware so they keep working even if the internet drops or a cloud service goes dark. We encrypt connections everywhere, keep data on-premises by default, and only reach the cloud when a feature genuinely needs it. We'll always tell you exactly what leaves your network and why.

The free consult happens within a few days of reaching out. Most builds go from approved quote to live system in two to four weeks, depending on how much hardware needs to ship and how complex the logic is. Small automations can be done in days; large multi-site or industrial projects are phased so you see working pieces early instead of waiting months for a big-bang launch.

The consult is free. Builds are quoted as one fixed price up front — no hourly meter and no scope creep on the invoice. Most residential and small-business automations land in the low four figures including hardware; larger industrial or multi-site work is scoped individually. The optional Care Plan is a flat monthly fee you can cancel anytime. You'll never get a surprise bill from us.

That's expected, and it's exactly what Step 4 is for. New building, new season, new equipment, new idea — we tune the logic to match so your system gets smarter over time instead of going stale. On a Care Plan, small adjustments are usually included; bigger expansions get their own fixed quote. And because you own everything, you're never stuck waiting on us to make a change.

Step one is free

Start with a consult, not a contract

Tell us the problem that's been bugging you. We'll tell you honestly whether we can automate it, how, and what it would cost — before you commit to anything.
